EnergyVision acquires hydropower pioneer Turbulent

EnergyVision announces the acquisition of Turbulent, the Belgian developer of micro-hydropower installations. The acquisition follows shortly after the recent expansion of EnergyVision’s wind capacity and marks another strategic step in further strengthening and stabilising the company’s energy mix. With solar, wind and hydropower, EnergyVision is building an increasingly complete and reliable renewable generation profile for its customers.

First PR agency specifically for non-profit organisations: Comm2You launches Comm2Care

Brussels-based PR agency Comm2You is launching a new division with Comm2Care. Comm2Care will also be the very first PR agency in Belgium exclusively serving non-profit organisations. With no fewer than one in eight people in Belgium working in in the the non-profit sector, it has long since ceased to be a niche sector. Yet the sector is facing a major challenge: the new federal government is planning to cut the tax deduction for charitable donations. “The level of attention the sector receives today is unfortunately not in proportion to its size and social relevance,” says Joachim Deman, Managing Partner of Comm2Care. "That's why we want to help non-profit organisations get the visibility they deserve. After all, once the reduction in tax deductions goes into effect, the sector will need to make an extra effort to convince their donors - and so once again they'll be focusing on strong communication."

Belgian team further expands IT company in Western Europe

European IT specialist Britenet
 to establish operations in Belgium 

Britenet, a European player in IT and software solutions, is setting its sights on Western Europe. Belgium, with an office in Zaventem, will become the operational hub for the European expansion plans of the company, which employs more than a thousand IT specialists. Over the next year, Britenet will build an experienced, Belgian team to address the shortage of specialised IT professionals in the public sector, banking and insurance, HR, retail and logistics, among others. COO Claudia Nieuwland, who has solid experience in the Belgian market and beyond, is leading Western European growth.

ION Residential Platform (IRP) acquires 100% of the shares of Calevoet Land, the company owning the Archipel residential scheme in Uccle, Brussels, from developers LIFE and Miix. The project concerns the redevelopment of the former AstraZeneca office building and will offer 126 sustainable apartments.

Bereits jeder sechste Käufer von exklusiven Millionenimmobilien an der belgisch-niederländischen Küste (15 Prozent) ist ein wohlhabender Deutscher. Dies geht aus einer Analyse der spezialisierten Immobilienunternehmen Cambier-De Nil in Knokke-Heist und Verhage-Lemahieu in Cadzand hervor. „In den letzten fünf Jahren ist der Anteil der deutschen Kunden - vor allem aus der Region Nordrhein-Westfalen - deutlich gestiegen. Neben der Nähe zu unserer Küste sind es vor allem die Sauberkeit, die Ruhe, die Sicherheit und das gastronomische Angebot, die sie anziehen“, heißt es dort. Bemerkenswert ist auch, dass wohlhabende Deutsche zunehmend nach noch exklusiveren Immobilien über 5 Millionen Euro suchen.

French private equity firm Omnes Capital and Belgian property developer ION have signed a cooperation agreement to establish a development fund with a capital of €35 million. The available capital will be used for new environment-friendly developments in Belgium and Luxembourg in the coming years. All the developments will be ‘dark green’ investments, meaning they will comply with the requirements of the Omnes Capital fund, classified as Article 9 under the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR).
